Word is Eddie Murphy and his date Tracey Edmonds abruptly left the Oscars after Alan Arkin beat him out for the Best Supporting Actor award for his role in Little Miss Sunshine. Whoa! I guess Eddie was pissed, but I really don’t blame him because the Oscars were so boring. He probably just wanted to see if he was gonna win, and then bounce.
Bobby Brown was arrested, again, right outside of his daughter’s high school cheerleading competition Sunday. He was charged with a failure to appear in court and pay child support fines. **UPDATE** Bobby Brown was supposed to be released from jail yesterday, but a judge ordered that he stay in jail until he pays $19,000. Bobby Brown was arrested on Sunday and jailed in Massachusetts for failure to appear in court and pay child support fines.
“He was picked up last night outside his daughter’s cheerleading competition” at her high school, Patrick McDermott, clerk of Norfolk Probate Court in Canton, Mass., tells PEOPLE. “He went very cooperatively. According to the constable, no one was really around.”
Jerry Loomis, one of the constables who arrested Brown, said he stopped the singer in the school’s parking lot “because we didn’t want to embarrass him or anyone else in there… He was very cooperative.”
Asked if Brown was able to see his daughter perform Loomis said, “No. He was begging us to go in there, but we felt for safety reasons we couldn’t allow him. It wasn’t even in the cards.”
Brown, 40, owes money to his former girlfriend Kim Ward, who lives in Massachusetts and with whom he has two teenage children: LaPrincia and Bobby III.
In October, a judge ordered Brown to be arrested if he stepped foot in the state after the singer skipped a court hearing over $11,000 in delinquent child support payments to Ward.
Later that month, McDermott said that Brown had paid what he owed to Ward; however, the arrest warrant has remained in place - probably in case Brown fell behind again, McDermott said.
Lawyers for both sides are currently conferring with a probation officer to determine how much Brown owes Ward at this point.
Brown spent Sunday night in jail and will remain in custody until Monday afternoon, when a judge will decide whether to charge him with contempt of a child support order. If the charge is criminal, Brown could land in jail, McDermott said.
Brown, who split from Whitney Houston in September, has a history of missed child support payments, and was even jailed in March 2004 for one day after missing several payments, which he subsequently paid.

My gal Jennifer Hudson won for Best Actress in a Supporting Role for Dreamgirls, as expected. Forest Whitaker won for Best Actor in a Leading Role for The Last King of Scotland, and former Vice President Al Gore won Best Documentary feature, along with Davis Guggenheim, for An Inconvenient Truth, making him the first major political figure to win an Oscar.
Current American Idol contestant Antonella Barba is the cause of controversy, after racy photos of her topless and holding something else close to her mouth other than a microphone circulated the Internet this weekend. Now if you remember, Frenchie Davis was booted from an earlier season of American Idol due to photos of her in lingerie. Well if you ask me, they need to boot this chick off the show too! How can they kick someone off for pictures in lingerie, but keep someone who has topless pics, pics of her on the toilet, and pics of her giving oral sex. There better be an announcement from the AI producers in the next few days.

The KFC/Taco Bell restaurant in New York City in which video footage caught dozens of rats roaming through the facility, had passed a health inspection just the day before footage revealed the infestation. Check it out:
NEW YORK — The city health department was trying to figure out Sunday why a KFC-Taco Bell restaurant had passed an inspection the day before video footage caught a dozen rats scampering across its floors.
“It doesn’t look like the inspection that was done Thursday met our standards,” said Geoffrey Cowley, a health department spokesman. “I don’t want to prejudge that. We’re concerned and we’re going to carefully revaluate that inspection.”
The fast-food operation, located in Greenwich Village, was shut down by the city on Friday after the video of the rodents was widely broadcast and attracted streams of sidewalk gawkers. It remained closed on Sunday.

Members of the Virginia General Assembly unanimously voted to express an apology for the state’s role in slavery, the Associated Press reports. Virginia is the first state to “apologize” for slavery, and Missouri is also considering passing a similar measure:
RICHMOND, Va. - Meeting on the grounds of the former Confederate Capitol, the Virginia General Assembly voted unanimously Saturday to express “profound regret” for the state’s role in slavery.
Sponsors of the resolution say they know of no other state that has apologized for slavery, although Missouri lawmakers are considering such a measure. The resolution does not carry the weight of law but sends an important symbolic message, supporters said.
“This session will be remembered for a lot of things, but 20 years hence I suspect one of those things will be the fact that we came together and passed this resolution,” said Delegate A. Donald McEachin, a Democrat who sponsored it in the House of Delegates.
The resolution passed the House 96-0 and cleared the 40-member Senate on a unanimous voice vote. It does not require Gov. Timothy M. Kaine’s approval.
The measure also expressed regret for “the exploitation of Native Americans.”
