» AND THE OSCAR GOES TO…

February 26, 2007 | Category:IN THE NEWS, OUT AND ABOUT | Author: Josh Cox

So the Oscars took place last night, and since I’ve been busy with class and newspaper articles, I’m just now getting to posting the winners. Check it out (photos by Steve Granitz and Lester Cohen):

My gal Jennifer Hudson won for Best Actress in a Supporting Role for Dreamgirls, as expected. Forest Whitaker won for Best Actor in a Leading Role for The Last King of Scotland, and former Vice President Al Gore won Best Documentary feature, along with Davis Guggenheim, for An Inconvenient Truth, making him the first major political figure to win an Oscar.

Helen Mirren won Best Actress in a Leading Role for The Queen, and despite the fact that Dreamgirls had THREE songs nominated for Best Music (Song), Melissa Ehtridge won with her song “I Need To Wake Up” from An Inconvenient Truth. More power to her! Now Beyonce wasn’t nominated for anything, but she’s my pick for the sexiest, best looking woman at the whole event! She’s so FINE! Okay, well of course that’s not all the winners, just some notable ones.

Oh yeah, and Ellen DeGeneres of course wasn’t nominated for anything, but I thought she did a great job hosting! I really like her. Now I would’ve posted more winners and more pictures, but since seriously like a million other blogs already have them, I didn’t really see the point. So here’s some links for you to find out more!:

CONCRETELOOP / JUST JARED / BEST WEEK EVER!
