In Paris, Texas, last year, a 14-year-old White girl burns down her family’s home. Her punishment? Probation. In the same town three months later, a 15-year-old Black girl, Shaquanda Cotton, is sentenced to seven years in prison for pushing a hall monitor at her high school.
Shaquanda had no prior arrests, and the monitor, a 58-year-old teacher’s aide, was not hurt, according to Black leaders in the northeast Texas town of about 26,000 residents. But in March 2006, the same judge, Lamar County Judge Chuck Superville, who let the White teenage girl go on probation, convicted Shaquanda of “assault on a public servant” and sent her to prison at least until she turns 21.

How pathetic. Stories like this really make me angry. Pushing someone in my old school district would have at most landed you into In School Suspension. And read this:
…according to The Chicago Tribune, officials at the Ron Jackson Correctional Complex repeatedly have extended Shaquanda’s sentence because she refuses to admit guilt and because she reportedly was found with contraband in her cell – an extra pair of socks…
It is really sad that so many people in our country still have so many prejudice beliefs. They shall all see their day in hell though.

Those curious as to what caused the death of former Playmate and model Anna Nicole Smith, who suddendly died in Hollywood, Fla. hotel room in early February, can finally get some closure. The autopsy released today ruled Anna’s death as an “accidental overdose” of sleeping medication and approximately eight other prescription drugs. No illegal drugs were found in her system, and there was no indication of foul play. Here’s more:
Broward County Medical Examiner Joshua Perper said Smith died of “combined drug intoxication” with the sleeping medication chloral hydrate as the major factor.
She had been taking a lengthy list of medications, including methadone for pain and valium, but those drugs were at therapeutic levels, he said. A bacterial infection from injecting medication in her buttocks and the flu contributed to her death, according to the report.
Chloral hydrate is a sedative used to treat insomnia and alcohol withdrawal, relieve anxiety and ease post-surgery pain.
The drug is rarely prescribed and is known to be fatal if combined with certain other drugs — including the sedative Lorazepam, which the autopsy showed she was taking, said Dr. Chip Walls, a forensic toxicologist for the Miller School of Medicine at the University of Miami.
“It’s very toxic if you mix it with any other central nervous system depressant drugs,” Walls said. “You could get profound sedation leading up to coma and respiratory arrest.”
Perper said Smith also had been on several antidepressant and antianxiety drugs and had recently taken longevity medications, vitamin B12 and growth hormone. An assistant medical examiner’s report described seeing a table in Smith’s hotel room containing cold medicine, soda cans, SlimFast, nicotine gum and an open box of Tamiflu tablets.
“We found nothing to indicate any foul play,” said Chief Charlie Tiger of the Seminole police department.

New York is left with a major decision tomorrow night on the Season Finale of “I Love New York“. New York will be choosing between Tango and Chance. Tango also known as the “Tan Man” who claims to be madly in love with New York and then there’s Chance who is as outgoing and crazy as they come. I for one think that New York is going to choose Tango because they vibe so well and hell they cried over each other. Now that I think is love. Then again New York said that she likes a bad boy. And Chance is just that. He ain’t afraid to tell New York to Shut the F**k up or snatch some Cigarettes outta her hand. So she does have a pretty big decision at her hand. Watch what happens as Chane, New York, and Tango get hot and steamy in Mexico.
Be sure and check out the Season Finale of I Love New York on April 2nd at 9 p.m. CST on VH1.
Tony Yayo was arrested yesterday in New York City, after a 14-year-old pressed assault charges against him. Here’s the scoop, from AllHipHop.com:
Yayo, born Marvin Bernard, and other members affiliated with G-Unit Records have been detained by New York authorities for their connection to the assault of Jimmy “Henchmen” Rosemond’s 14-year-old son.
Yayo was with an entourage that was returning from a brief trip to Africa when authorities apprehended them.
Sources weren’t clear what charges, if any, have been levied on the men.
Representatives for Violator denied that 50 Cent was detained, but refused to comment on Yayo’s arrest.
Yayo and others were taken to a precinct in downtown Manhattan to be identified by the teen, who will be accompanied by his mother.
The police also questioned the men as well for statements on the alleged assault.

So what do you do when fake pictures of you naked float around the Internet? Well if you’re Vida Guerra, you prove that they’re fake by posing nude for Playboy magazine. Check it out:
They (Playboy) had asked me three times (and) I got a little upset about the situation. They were making such a big deal about it that I said, `I might as well take Playboy up on their offer and do it in a nice, classy, tasteful way, since everyone is so curious to see how I look in my birthday suit.”
And Guerra urges fans not to get duped by fake nude shots in the future, insisting they should look for her beauty marks.
She tells King magazine, “I have a beauty mark that tells. You can compare the real thing with the (bogus) picture and it’s like, `Nah!’ You can’t see it in the Playboy spread because there is no open-crotch (shot). One is below my navel and the other is in my inner thigh.”
