» TIMBALAND WAS RIGHT… ‘GIVE IT TO ME’ TOPS THE CHART

April 12, 2007 | Category:BILLBOARD REPORTS | Author: Josh Cox

Timbaland showed off his cocky side when he said “this song gone top the charts” in his verse on “Give It To Me.” He was right though, as the song, which features Justin Timberlake and Nelly Furtado, jumps all the way from 42 to number 1 on this week’s Billboard Hot 100, thanks to over 240,000 downloads. It is the second highest jump to number one in Billboard history. Coming in at number 2 this week is Akon’s “Don’t Matter,” follwed by his colloboration with Gwen Stefani, “The Sweet Escape,” at number 3. Fergie and Ludacris are “Glamorous” at number 4, followed by “This Is Why I’m Hot” by MIMS which falls from number 3 to number 5. Another interesting move in the top 10 is T-Pain’s “Buy U A Drank” featuring Yung Joc, which jumps to number 10 this week, proving that it is a very strong single since the video was just released this week.
