Unless you have been sitting under a rock for the past week, you know that a marriage license was obtained by Beyonce and Jay-Z in Scarsdale Village, NY, on Monday, April 1st.

Of course we all know that April 1st is April Fool’s Day, but this whole thing may actually not be a joke. Some type of ceremony took place tonight in New York, and hundreds of paparazzi have gotten footage of guests arriving in white to what appears to be a reception at Jay-Z’s Tribeca (NYC) apartment.

Tina Knowles, Kelly Rowland, Michelle Williams, Solange Knowles, and Gwyneth Paltrow have all been photographed arriving to this ‘mysterious’ event dressed in white.

Also, earlier today Kelly and Michelle released a video blog on YouTube saying they were in a hotel in an ‘undisclosed location.’ Very intersting.

So is hip-hop’s biggest couple since 2003 finally tying the not, or are they playing one of the biggest pranks a celebrity has ever played on the public in history?

I find it extremely odd that the news of the marriage license was reported on April Fool’s Day, a day notorious for people playing pranks and jokes on each other. Another weird aspect of this whole thing, neither Beyonce’s nor Jay’s publicists have had anything to say about these reports. Normally they are quick to shoot down any rumors or speculation. But could their lack of comments have something to do with the fact that this time the wedding buzz is legit?

Also, we are in the midst of the debut season on Pop Fiction, a new reality series that airs on E! which helps celebrities pull off certain pranks just to see how hard the media falls for it. You may recall reading several articles about Paris Hilton hanging out with that weird guy or Avril Lavigne’s baby-bump… those stories were all the result of a prank pulled off with the help of Pop Fiction.
