GOODBYE, CIRCUIT CITY

Circuit City will be closing its remaining stores.

Circuit City, the nation’s second-largest consumer electronics retailer, announced today that it will be liquidating its remaining 567 stores in the U.S. and cutting around 30,000 jobs.

Circuit previously closed 155 stores in November and December, and hoped to sell the company.

But the bankrupt company was unable to find a buyer and will go out of business. Circuit City joins other major retailers such as Linens ‘N Things and KB Toys on the ever-growing list of bankrupt retailers.
