“I shed a lot of stuff, a lot of unnecessary weight in the last three or four years. I left a lot of old luggage behind, and when I did, the blessings just started pouring on me, and the light in my spirit started to lift again.
“I’m really humbled, and I thank God that people love me, but I [really] thank God that God loves me. I thank Him for chastening my heart, for never letting go. What I did sometimes … I went off and did my thing, but He never let me go….”

You remember that group B2K, right? Well former members Lil’ Fizz and J-Boog have formed a new group. This single, “Bounce,” is off the soundtrack of the latest installment of the Bring It On series, starring Christina Millian.
I’m not sure about the song, but I was surprised at how high quality the video was. I was expecting a low budget, camera phone-type video, but I see somebody shelled out some major cash for this one. Good luck to them.
Mo and Kitta’s commentary on The T.O. Show finale.
I must admit that I was a little sad that tonight was the finale of VH1’s The T.O. Show.
For the past few weeks, Terrell Owens and his friends/assistants Mo and Kitta have kept me surprisingly entertained. From red onesy pajamas to whoreiffic real estate agents, my eyes couldn’t help but be glued to VH1 at 9 p.m. on Monday nights.
If you watched last week, you know that Kitta planned a bachelorette extravaganza in Vegas (with T.O.’s credit card, of course), but things didn’t go as classy as Kitta wanted, especially after Mo took it upon herself to hire a male stripper. The two got into a huge argument, Mo dis-invited Kitta from her wedding, and we were left with a very cliche cliffhanger – would Kitta be able to come to the wedding or not? :cue dramatic music:
I won’t spoil the finale for those who haven’t seen it yet, but I will tell you that somebody gives life advice with the help of the Stanky Leg, and vanilla ice cream makes a surprise visit in a room full of chocolate. Also I learned three important F’s.

Chris Brown
Chris Brown released a lengthy statement to People magazine early Monday in response to an answer he gave in an interview that suggested he did not remember what happened between he and Rihanna last February. Here’s an excerpt:
Of course I remember what happened … But it was and still is a blur. And yes, I still can’t believe it happened because it is not me or who I am, nor is what happened like anything I have ever done before … I am ashamed of and sorry for what happened that night and I wish I could relive that moment and change things, but I can’t. I take full responsibility for my actions. What I have to do now is to prove to the world that this was an isolated incident and that is not who I am, and I intend to do so by my behavior now and in the future…
The statement is an attempt to clear up some misinformation reported by several news outlets in regard to an excerpt from his exclusive interview with CNN’s Larry King, which was taped this weekend.
Chris Brown’s first televised interview since the infamous domestic “assault” on his former girlfriend Rihanna will air on Wednesday, September 2nd, at 8 p.m. CST on CNN’s Larry King Live.

Former Danity Kane star Aubrey O’Day recently sat down with MTV to discuss what she’s been up to since the group’s strange split last fall.
In the interview, Aubrey admits that her experiences on MTV’s Making the Band made the idea of a studio ‘traumatizing’, because she says the cameras were always in the studio in their faces “waiting for us to hit a bad note so they can have a show.” Awesome quote.
She also said that she keeps in touch with Shannon, Aundrea, and D.Woods. Dawn Richard, not so much. I find that really interesting, because I think a lot of the girls seemed to have had problems with Dawn. Now she’s in a group with Diddy…. hmmm. Who knows.
Meanwhile, Aubrey is currently filming a reality show and will star in a huge Las Vegas production called Peepshow, in which former Spice Girl Mel B is currently starring.
People tend to throw a lot shade at Aubrey, but I have to say I have a lot of respect for her. She’s been on the grind ever since there were any hints that Danity Kane was about to go sour and hasn’t stopped since. She’s hilarious and her interviews are always very articulate and honest. Best of luck to her!

Unless you have a life and don’t spend a lot of time watching TV like I do, you’ve seen the AT&T commercials featuring Mary J. Blige and this single, “The One.”
Mary took to Twitter earlier this weekend to premiere the video for the single, which features the super hyped, and super talented, Canadian rapper/singer Drake.
I have to admit, I did not like the song the first few times I heard it, but I can see that this video may make me change my mind. It’s pure fire… one of the hottest video’s she’s done in quite a while.
You’ve read posts like this before here at Tha Doghouse, so you know the deal: life got hectic and I took an unplanned hiatus from the blog.
I swear this is like the 204394058th time this happened. But this time is different, because tomorrow will put an end to my habit of taking breaks.
Tha Doghouse will return for good tomorrow, Sunday, August 30th. I am so serious this time.
I want to thank all of the loyal readers who have been down with the blog since its humble beginnings in 2006, and I especially thank those who have been down with the website in general since its beginning in 2003.
Your support means everything to me, and I can only hope that you guys keep supporting.

Heidi Montag covers the September issue of Playboy. Spotted at The Life Files
Mud? Or Dirty Sanchez?
Whichever it is, MTV reality star Heidi Montag Pratt got dirty for the cover of next month’s issue of Playboy.
Her and her douchey husband Spencer pimped the hell out of the cover at a recent red carpet premiere. (Say what you want, but they are great at marketing and promotion)
According to Heidi and her sister, she doesn’t get naked in the magazine; there are only tasteful pictures. Let’s just hope that Jesus approves.

Chris Brown
A judge has delayed Chris Brown’s sentencing to August 27th, awaiting official word from the State of Virginia on whether or not Chris will be able to perform community labor there.
Chris was in a Los Angeles court today facing formal sentencing after pleading guilty in June to felony assault against his ex-girlfriend Rihanna.
Chris will serve five years probation and six months of community labor, not community service, as part of his plea deal.
I’m sure you have also heard this news by now: Paula Abdul is not returning to the next season of FOX’s American Idol. Womp womp. Paula, who has been a judge on the show since its original season in 2002, announced the news in a statement via her Twitter page last night:
With sadness in my heart, I’ve decided not to return to Idol. I’ll miss nurturing all the new talent, but most of all being a part of a show that I helped from day 1 become an international phenomenon. What I want to say most, is how much I appreciate the undying support and enormous love that you have showered upon me. It truly has been breathtaking, especially over the past month. I do without any doubt have the BEST fans in the entire world and I love you all.
FOX also confirmed the news, saying in an official statement that “Paula Abdul has been an important part of the American Idol family over the last eight seasons and we are saddened that she has decided not to return to the show. While Paula will not be continuing with us, she’s a tremendous talent and we wish her the best.”
Booooo! Bad call on FOX and other companies and parties involved in her new contract negotiations. I think with this news, and the lack of success of several recent Idol winners, it’s safe to say that the show is on its way out…

The American Psychological Association has voted on a new resolution that discourages U.S. psychologists from using therapy in order to make homosexual and bisexual clients become straight. From Yahoo! News:
The American Psychological Association declared Wednesday that mental health professionals should not tell gay clients they can become straight through therapy or other treatments.
Instead, the APA urged therapists to consider multiple options — that could range from celibacy to switching churches — for helping clients whose sexual orientation and religious faith conflict.
… the 150,000-member association put itself firmly on record in opposition of so-called “reparative therapy” which seeks to change sexual orientation.
No solid evidence exists that such change is likely, says the report, and some research suggests that efforts to produce change could be harmful, inducing depression and suicidal tendencies.
I think this is a good call. You can’t turn gay, you can’t turn bi, and I don’t believe you can turn a gay/bi person straight. In my opinion, someone’s sexual orientation is not a t-shirt color… they can’t choose it because it’s simply a part of who they are.

By far one of my favorite singers, the lovely LeToya Luckett makes her big-screen acting debut in Preacher’s Kid, which hits theaters on October 30, 2009. Check out the trailer above.
Be sure to cop LeToya’s sophomore album, Lady Love, which will be available in stores and online on August 25th.
