Chris Brown vs. Oprah? See Chris’s full Larry King interview
Didn’t get a chance to see Chris Brown’s first-ever TV interview since his February assault on Rihanna Wednesday night on CNN’s Larry King Live? Don’t worry; WorldStarHipHop posted the interview in its entirety, and you can watch it above.
Overall, I thought the interview went very badly. It was definitely a bad move, and I’m not sure what Chris’s PR people are trying to do to his career. He was poorly spoken during the interview, answering serious questions with “wow” and “like” and “it was crazy.” Definitely not a good look. As a matter of fact, he refused to talk about many things about the incident, which in my opinion defeats the entire purpose of the interview.
If Chris wants his career back, these interviews and ridiculously scripted statements are not going to help. I think at this point most people have made up their minds about whether or not they’ll continue to support him. So a simple “I’m sorry” along with accepting his sentence would have been plenty.
Meanwhile, Chris was popping off at the mouth about Oprah in a recent interview with People magazine. He told them:
I commend Oprah on being like, ‘This is a problem,’ but it was a slap in my face. I did a lot of stuff for her, like going to Africa and performing for her school. She could have been more helpful, like, ‘OK, I’m going to help both of these people out.’
I kinda agree with him on that last statement, she could’ve offered help instead of just criticism. But the criticism was deserved. Here’s what a rep for Oprah said in response:
Oprah is very appreciative that Chris Brown performed at her school, but she takes domestic abuse very seriously. She hopes he gets the counseling he needs.
Interesting. Good luck to Chris with getting things back to normal.
