Texas school district skips Obama speech, sends students to hear Bush

President Obama and former president Bush.

Look at what’s going on in good ole red Texas.

A school district in North Texas is causing a bit of controversy. After refusing to air President Barack Obama‘s “stay in school” speech a couple of weeks ago, the district announced that is sending its students on buses to hear former president George W. Bush and his wife Laura Bush at an event at the Cowboys Stadium in Dallas.

The Arlington School District decided not to air Obama’s speech after it caused concern by many students’ parents.

A pastor of a local church said, “I do not understand the duplicity in this situation.” Indeed.

Have the majority of conservatives completely lost it? I’d say so. The “controversy” surrounding Obama’s speech was outrageous, but to refuse to air a positive television speech from one president and then turn around and spend money to send students to hear another is much higher on the ridiculous meter.

What are your thoughts on this?
