Brandy says blogs make her cry

Brandy

Awww… poor Brandy. In a recent celebrity blog for Vibe, the singer and star of VH1′s new reality show “Brandy & Ray J: A Family Business” says that blogs go “way too far.” Check it out:

People think that you being strong doesn’t mean things don’t hurt your feelings. That’s not what being strong means. I’m a very strong person, but some of those things that people say about me on blogs make me cry. I don’t like it. And what’s so frustrating is that I don’t get a chance to retaliate. Because y’all are not posting y’all pictures on the blogs. I can’t respond and I can’t be negative back because that’s just not me.

But sometimes some of the things that people say about me and my best friends and people that I care about, like my brother and Kelly Rowland, I want to go in on those people, but I can’t. But that stuff hurts. It really hurts. Sometimes we don’t read the comments because of what we’ve seen people say in the past about us. Okay, you don’t like my shoes, you don’t like my outfit, cool, but the rest of it, like bringing up the car accident?

People just go too far. Way too far. But people are going to be who they are. As long as I’m not like that, and even if I wasn’t me and I was tweeting about another celebrity, I would never say anything bad about somebody like that. I’m glad that I’m that type of a person.

If I was running the site, I wouldn’t post a bad picture of another person. I just wouldn’t do that. All to make money. For what reason? There are other ways that you can make money. Why do you have to do that at the expense of somebody else? And then the hard part about it is you take a picture of me, I don’t get a piece of that at all. It’s just weird. I just think people should have respect. We have feelings.

I respect and totally understand what Brandy is saying here. Some of these bloggers can be really mean, but at the same time when you put yourself out there in the public eye as an entertainer, politician, or other type of celebrity, you should know what comes with the territory. Sorry Brandy, but you can’t have your cake and eat it too.

By the way, if a blog post from some irrelevant blogger makes her cry, can she really call herself a strong person?

Angela Simmons and her boyfriend

It looks like way too many people are giving Angela Simmons the side-eye over the fact that her boyfriend is of a different race than she is, so she took to Global Grind to speak on the foolishness. Check it out:

Now that I have a moment to sit down and reflect, I wanted to talk to you about something I have recently noticed. I am a lil surprised at the number of people that seem to disapprove of the relationship with my boyfriend. I find this reality to be kind of hard to accept. There are times when I notice people giving us long hard stares and those stares are usually from my own people!

Honestly, I wish everyone could benefit from the beauty that can come from experiences that happen outside of your own comfort zone. It is truly a beautiful thing that can add so much to your life.

Give it a shot and you can learn so much from a person you never thought you’d talk to or have something in common with. I’m not just talking about dating but about all types of relationships.

Amen. It’s sad how many people still see an issue with interracial dating, and it’s even more ridiculous that so many of them are black. Like Angela said, rise above the hate people!
