Earlier today Tiger Woods spoke publicly for the first time since the mysterious November 27th crash outside his Florida home that somehow turned into a major sex scandal. In his prepared speech apology, he acknowledged his affairs and admitted that he spent a month and a half in sex addiction therapy.
Noticeably absent here is his wife Elin Nordegren, which has caused many people to speculate that the two are pursuing a divorce.
So now that Tiger has apologized, can he please be removed from the news headlines? In my opinion, he does not owe the public an apology. He and his hoe s**t should not be breaking news. If you ask me, he owes the apologies to his wife, his family, his friends and no one else.
You can find a full transcript of his statement after the jump.
Just in case you missed it, here’s a video of Jay-Z and Rihanna’s (Kanye’s verse was somehow left out) “Run This Town” collaboration with E.S. Posthumus, which served as an opening piece for tonight’s Super Bowl.
Here’s a thought: why not let Jay-Z, Rihanna, or someone else current perform during the halftime show, instead of these acts from before our lifetimes, like the appropriately-titled band The Who (I don’t know who the hell they are)? CBS has really played it too safe since Janet and Nipplegate, which really wasn’t that big of a deal in the first place.
Anyway, huge congratulations to the Saints for their big win! I know the city of New Orleans is super wild right now!
Do you remember City High? The group was big back in 2001 thanks to their Grammy-nominated hit “What Would You Do?” but they fell completely off soon after.
City High’s Robby Pardlo is now a huge alcoholic and was featured on a recent episode of “Intervention” on A&E. The story is a huge hot mess disaster — Robby formed the group with his then-girlfriend Claudette Ortiz and best friend Ryan Toby. Robby was “madly in love” with Claudette, but she dumped him for Ryan and they got married and had a child. Womp womp. The group disbanded over all the conflict, Robby moved back home with his parents, and became a raging alcoholic.
Check out his appearance on “Intervention” below. It really is a sad situation. What would you do?
The 2010 awards show season officially kicked off last night with NBC’s telecast of the Golden Globes, live from the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, Calif. Within the first few moments of the show, Mo’Nique took home the award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in the critically-acclaimed Lee Daniels’ film Precious.
If you didn’t know, Mo’Nique created quite the controversy a few months ago with rumors floating around that she refused any promotional appearances for the film at various festivals, citing her BET talk show as a more important obligation.
Whether those rumors were true or not, she definitely deserved this award. Her performance in Precious is unbelievably amazing, and I definitely see an Oscar on her radar. I’ve been following her career ever since she brought out the LOLs on “The Parkers,” so I can’t help but be super proud of her Golden Globes win.
Meanwhile, the star of Precious, Gabourey Sidibe, lost in the Best Actress category to Sandra Bullock and her performance in The Blind Side. I love me some Sandra, and she did a great job in that movie that I hate but everyone else seems to love, but Gabourey’s performance in Precious was much better… so I’m definitely throwing a flag on that play. Who’s with me?
In case you missed Mo’Nique’s beautiful acceptance speech, check it out below.
Chris Brown has people going nuts over his comeback performance Tuesday at Power 105.1’s Powerhouse 2009 concert at the Izod Center in New Jersey.
Chris headlined the event, while artists such as Day 26, Trey Songz, The-Dream and Keri Hilson opened for him. Chris’s performances were very, very well-received according to reports.
He opened with his new single “I Can Transform Ya,” followed by performances of past hits like “Forever”, “Gimme That” and “Kiss, Kiss.” Watch a couple of those performances below.
Check out the performances from Keri Hilson, after the jump.
Here’s one that slipped by me — it’s a short film from Kanye West called “We Were Once a Fairytale.” It’s, um, very interesting to say the least. It’s also NSFW-ish.
** Quick shoutout: Hola a todos los lectores latinos!! Les quiero!
In case you missed it, Shakira performed on tonight’s episode of “Dancing with the Stars” on ABC. Above is her performance of “Hips Don’t Lie,” and you can catch a performance of “Did It Again” — the newest single from her She Wolf album — after the jump.
Both performances were pretty good, even though I spent most of the time watching her roll those hips.
By the way, UFC star Chuck Liddell got the boot on tonight’s episode. Womp womp.
More of Shakira’s sexy hip rollin’ and booty poppin’ after the jump. Oh, and Shakira: Favor de llamarme si no tienes novio.
Mike Tyson’s full appearnce on yesterday’s episode of Oprah
Yesterday, boxer Mike Tyson was featured on Oprah, where the two discussed everything from the infamous ear-biting incident, to the recent accidental death of his daughter Exodus.
Mike was in tears at several points throughout the interview.
If you have any form of a social life, you were no where near a TV screen last night. If you’re me, you laid in bed an watched the second episode of this season of Saturday Night Live, hosted by Ryan Reynolds with Lady Gaga as the musical guest.
Of course I have videos of all of Gaga’s skits and performances, and I’m gonna give little mini-reviews.
The skit that had everybody talking was Deep House Dish, in which Gaga came out on stage with Madonna – an extremely rare SNL appearance.
The two wrestled and fought, complete with Madonna asking her what the hell is a disco stick and what kind of name is Lady Gaga. Gaga’s response: ‘the name that’s number one on the Billboard charts.’ This ended with a PG-rated four-way between Madonna, Gaga, Kenan Thompson, and Andy Samberg. Watch:
That clip wasn’t funny to me, but the second she did was. She and Andy Samberg try to get it in backstage, but ‘fashion’ comes between them.
See Gaga’s performances of “Paparazzi,” “LoveGame,” “Bad Romance” and more after the jump.
