Poor Mary J. Blige. A few days ago, she announced before a Good Morning America performance that she had received her GED and was accepted into Howard University.
Howard didn’t let her or fans enjoy a moment of excitement before they shut her down, embarrassingly releasing a statement suggesting that Mary had not been admitted into the university. Their statement:
We encourage Ms. Blige to continue her studies and welcome her consideration of Howard University in the future. We are happy to work with Ms. Blige on completing the formal process for admission.
Mary tweeted this morning that she was indeed accepted into Howard and that she has an acceptance letter, which she framed, that proves it. However, her rep released a statement late last night stating that Mary will not be attending Howard this fall.
This is crazy. *Kanye voice* Why won’t they let Mary be great? I doubt she would make up a story like this. Anyway, best wishes to her and her future academic endeavors.

You know VH1 reality shows are good when you have controversy a month before a show even premieres. Yesterday The YBF reported that both a crew member and contestant on Chad Ochocinco‘s upcoming dating show on VH1, “Ochocinco: The Ultimate Catch,” claim that the Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver demanded that all the black chicks be cut from his show.
Not true, according to Chad. He took to Twitter to personally shut these rumors down. Here’s what he had to say.

RadarOnline is reporting that Khloe Kardashian and Lamar Odom are expecting. A “friend of the family” says that Khloe is two months pregnant. The two were married last September in Los Angeles in front of E! Network’s cameras.
Guess which star cast member of VH1′s “Basketball Wives” got arrested during a taping of the show’s reunion special in Los Angeles? RadarOnline reports that Suzie Ketcham, ex-girlfriend of Michael Olowokondi, was arrested after an on-set confrontation resulted in a groupie chick being taken away by paramedics. Here’s the deets:
“The show was taping and then the cast was told, ‘We have a surprise guest,” the source told RadarOnline.com.
That special guest was “Sandra” — the infamous “groupie” who had a drink thrown in her face during a fight with Ketcham on an episode of the premiere season.
“No one knew she was going to be there,” added the source.
“Suzie got really pissed off and just got up and left, but not soon after, she came back with a huge bucket of water and threw it at Sandra.”
That’s when it turned ugly.
“Sandra tried to run away, but in the process, she slipped in the water and fell,” recounted the insider.
“The whole audience gasped.”
With Sandra seriously hurt, production staff called paramedics who responded not soon after.
She was treated in front of the studio audience.
“As she was being taken off set, the first words out of her mouth were, “Call my lawyer”,” said the source.
Are these grown ass women with kids, or 16-year-old high school girls? But I have to admit, the ridiculousness of this makes for some good TV.
Folks have been speculating for weeks that Alicia Keys might be pregnant after noticing a little baby bump at recent performances and appearances. Her reps confirm that Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz are expecting and are engaged. From People Magazine:
The musicians “are expecting a baby and are engaged to be married in a private ceremony later this year,” reps for the couple confirm to PEOPLE.
The announcement comes after the two, together since fall 2008, attended Thursday night’s Black Ball in London, which benefits Keys’s Keep a Child Alive charity.
“They’re very happy,” says a friend of the couple.

Could we have a little case of DRAMA here? Word on the street is that comedian and Academy Awarding-actress Mo’Nique is less than happy with the Queen of Planet EarthOprah over her interview with Mo’Nique’s brother, who admitted to molesting her at a young age.
While it has been reported that Mo’Nique gave Oprah her blessing for the interview, it is now rumored that Mo’Nique is pissed about how the interview went, saying it has made the relationship between her and her family even worse.
Oprah and Mo’Nique were never the best of friends… Mo’Nique was less than impressed with how the interview played out as she felt that her brother lied and that it was not sympathetic enough towards her.
She was particularly upset that Gerald lied to Oprah that he molested her while she was sleeping because she was wide awake and scared of him.
Also, she is angry that he did not get any help or enter a rehab and she does not trust him around children.
Oprah asked her to appear on her show again for another interview but at this point she has declined the invitation.
If anything it has made the situation worse between Mo’Nique and her family and she doesn’t know if she will ever speak to them again now.
What’s my verdict? I think this is just a rumor. Sounds like Mo is more angry at her brother than at Oprah. Why did this trollop wait until now to come forward and admit to the molestation? Clearly her brother is just trying to get some attention, and that is probably what pisses off Mo’Nique the most.
Just last week Rihanna announced she was headlining a tour this summer with Ke$ha and Nicki Minaj as opening acts; just a day later, Nicki Minaj pulled out of the tour. According to MediaTakeOut (which means it’s probably not true), Nicki may be joining Lady Gaga on tour this summer. Say whaaaat??
It was widely reported that Nicki Minaj didn’t go on tour with Rihanna because her manager failed to secure an international work permit, resulting in Nicki firing her manager; now word on the street is that RiRi actually kicked Nicki Minaj off the tour. Snitches say that after hearing that Nicki was not touring at all this summer, Lady Gaga’s people wanted to scoop her up for Gaga’s tour.
Not sure how true any of this is, but touring with Lady Gaga would be a good look for Nicki Minaj — way better than hitting the road with Rihanna.
